The work of commercial property agents is not easy. They work in a very
aggressive and stressful atmosphere. The competition among commercial
property agencies is very severe but the competition among commercial
property agents within one agency can be even worse. Commercial
property agents, as commercial
property broker, work for commissions that are paid only
after the transaction and sometimes they have to wait for their salary
for months. But on the other hand the salary of commercial property
agents can be very rewarding. So most people willing to become
commercial property agents are not scared by difficulties of this job.
Most of commercial property agents work for big real estate companies,
private agents are not so numerous. Some of commercial property agents
represent tenants, or clients willing to buy commercial property, and
the other category of agents represent landlords, owners of commercial property. Lease
agents usually have
stable salary besides their commissions. Anyway each transaction with
commercial property usually involves millions or at least hundreds
thousand dollars so the job is very responsible and challenging.
Commercial property agents must have at least college degree, a good
knowledge of financing, real estate law, specific features of local
commercial property market and of course a realty license. Commercial
property agents should be friendly and patient because they work with
people and it is necessary to get along with different clients with
different needs and characters. So, only a person with good
communicative skills can become a good realty agent. Very often
commercial property agents should provide their clients with consulting
concerning commercial
property mortgage, insurance etc. And of course they have to
be
very keen at paper work and documentation. So as any other job this job
have its advantages and disadvantages but many people become commercial
real estate agents every year hoping that they will achieve great
results and earn lots of money in commercial property industry.
